Extended-desktop DisplayPort MST KVM extender
video, USB 2.0 and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable
• Dual-monitor HD 60 video, USB 2.0 (HID) and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable
• Point-to-point protocol for ultra-low latency
• Flexibility between copper and fiber connectivity
• Adder's USB emulation ensures reliable computer bootup
ADDERLink® XD612 is a high performance KVMA (keyboard, video, mouse and audio) extender that is designed to provide reliable and real-time access to critical computers – regardless of the location, while maintaining the same user desktop experience. Developed for enterprise organizations and highpressure control rooms, it combines the simplicity of true plug and play and high performance HD KVM extension, resulting in superior functionality and flexibility in a cost-effective, reliable and straight forward solution.
Using either fiber optic or CATx links, ADDERLink® XD612 compact extender modules allow you to extend KVM connections over long distances from a host computer. A high-grade screening is employed within the metal cased enclosures, particularly when combined with the immunity from interference of the fiber optic links.
ADDERLink® XD612 extender modules provide support for:
• High quality digital single- or dual-video
• Video resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz
• USB keyboard and mouse plus two other USB 2.0 devices
• An RS232 serial device at speeds up to 115200 baud
• Mono microphone
• Stereo speakers, digital stereo audio out
• Line-level audio in/out connections
Designed to support those working from single or dual-screen workstations in modern control room environments, XD612 extends HD video and enables users to take real-time control of their critical PCs and applications housed securely in remote or rarely accessed locations. XD612 combines dual-head KVM extension with support for MST functionality and local feed through connectivity to deliver a true 'at the PC' experience. ADDERLink extender modules are totally transparent in operation, leaving you free to use your computer as though you're still sitting next to it.
High resolution video, real-time control
The system supports resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz using 8 bits per color and 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Either single or dual-heads are transmitted within a single cable:
• A single DisplayPort™ 1.2 connection at the transmitter (Tx)
• Either one or two video outputs at the receiver (Rx)
• Dual-head utilizes DisplayPort™ MST (multi-stream transport) technology
• A local pass-through video port is provided at the Tx
Multi-display support using MST
ADDERLink XD612 supports the MST (multi-stream transport) protocol, which was introduced in the DisplayPort 1.2 standard. MST allows feeds for multiple video displays to be fed along a single cable.
ADDERLink XD612 models use a single DisplayPort link to accept up to two video feeds from the host computer. This combined MST stream is then transferred to the receiver where an internal MST hub separates the two streams and presents them individually at the two video output ports.
Multiple displays at the local console
With ADDERLink XD612 you can optionally connect up to two video displays to the second video port of the transmitter to view the output locally. You have several connection options:
• For a two display arrangement, connect an MST-compliant video display with another display (MST-compliant or not) in a daisy-chain arrangement
• If using two non MST-compliant video displays, connect one to the Tx video output port and the other directly to the host computer's video adapter
• If only a single local display is required, a non-MST display can be connected directly to the video output port
Single cable
HD video, USB 2.0 HID (human interface device) and audio are transmitted on a single CATx or fiber cable.
Up to 4km/2.5 mile range
ADDERLink™ XD612 supports both copper and fiber interfaces. It provides a range of up to 100m/328ft over a CAT-6 cable link, and up to 4km/2.5 miles over an optical fiber link.
Emulated USB 2.0
Enables connection of any full and low-speed USB HID from mouse and keyboards through to graphics tablets and jog shuttles.
EDID management
The system has intelligent EDID management to allow the true characteristics of the monitor to be passed back to the computer.
Plug and play
XD612 extender is delivered in a zero config. state so it works, without the need for drivers or software, as soon as it is connected.
Audio options
• Video: Encapsulates two channels of 24-bit, 192kHz sampled "pulse-code modulation" (PCM) audio with each video signal.
• USB: Two channels of 24-bit, 96kHz sampled PCM audio.
• Analog: Two channels of 24-bit, 96kHz audio for Line in/out, microphone and headphone/ speakers.
Serial communications
RS232 can be passed between the units to a maximum baud rate 115K2 with RTS/CTS flow control.
